And Peterborough midfielder Michael Bostwick was left cursing his club’s choice of kit after mistaking a pitch-side steward for a teammate.
The embarrassing mishap happened during Saturday’s League One victory over rivals Northampton Town.
But rather than reading the picture and playing an inch-perfect pass to his fullback, Bostwick was left to apologise as he realised exactly what he had done.
