Tiger Woods admits he is “trying everything” to return to competitive action at the Masters in little more than two weeks time.

Four-time Masters champion Woods, 41, has not played a round of golf since withdrawing after the first round of the Dubai Desert Classic on February 2.

Despite his manager Mark Steinberg claiming Woods was “not even talking about the Masters”, the 14-time major champion revealed otherwise on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ on Monday.

“God, I hope so,” said Woods, when asked if he was ready to compete at Augusta National for the season’s first major on April 6.

“I’m trying everything to be able to get back and play. I love that event. It’s meant so much to me in my life. It has so much history and meaning to me, I’d love to get back.”

Woods was on television to promote his new book titled “The 1997 Masters: My Story.”

“I need to get back physically,” he added.

“The mind is sharp. I just need to get the body willing to do it. That’s the hard part, is getting the prep time in. I haven’t been able to get as much prep time in, haven’t been able to train like I used to, practice like I used to, so it’s been harder.

“My priorities have changed a lot. My kids now dominate my life, and that’s a good thing.”
