Tiger Woods has had back surgery and is expected to be out of golf for six months.
The 41-year-old Woods, who has now gone through four back surgeries, had the procedure to cure pain in his back and leg.
“I look forward to living without the pain I have been battling so long and to getting back to a normal life, playing with my kids and competing in professional golf,” the 14-time major winner said.
“The surgery went well, and I’m optimistic this will relieve my back spasms and pain.”
Woods made a comeback in December after 15 months out of competitive golf following back surgery, but was forced to pull out of the Dubai Desert Classic in February following a back spasm.
He will likely miss the remainder of the majors this term.
