Should Atlanta United have been awarded a penalty vs. Revs?

Atlanta United beat the New England Revolution 1-0 on Saturday in Round One in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs. But the result wasn’t without a little controversy.

In the 43rd minute, Josef Martinez tried to collect a Franco Escobar pullback but Revs goalkeeper Matt Turner got there around the same time. While the replays were not definitive, Martinez was shown a yellow card for simulation.

In the second half, Andrew Farrell made a last-ditch tackle to stop Ezequiel Barco. There appeared to be some contact, but referee Kevin Stott did not point to the spot.
