The most influential European football teams, leagues and players online in China have been revealed in an interesting new report.
Conducted by sports digital and consultancy agency Mailman, the China Digital Football Awards is now in its seventh year and provides a deep insight into the preferences of football fans in the world’s most populous country.
The continued growth of the sport in the Far East means players in the Premier League and across Europe are becoming more and more popular and are starting to increase their online presence in the country.
Using data from popular social media platforms such as Weibo [a Twitter-like microblogging site], the report has listed the five most popular players in China who play for European clubs.
