MANILA, Philippines – The Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters hopped on a 35-19 run to finish the match as they handed the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings their second defeat, 118-112, in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday, May 19 at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Justin Brownlee poured out 38 markers, 8 boards and 6 assists, while Joe Devance and Japeth Aguilar had 19 and 15, respectively.

Duke Crews topscored with 28 points coupled with 22 rebounds for the Elasto Painters, who now rise to a 5-4 slate.

Earlier in the day, the San Miguel Beermen officially clinched playoff berth as they topped the NLEX Road Warriors, 114-108, behind Charles Rhodes’ double-double night of 37 points and 19 rebounds.

Chris Ross landed the Player of the Game honors after tallying 15 markers, 11 assists as well as 4 steals on the board.

Coming off a successful stint with the Gilas Pilipinas in the recently concluded SEABA Championships, big man June Mar Fajardo refused to take a day off as he added 12 points to go with 4 boards for the now 6-1 Beermen.
