MLS round-up: Toronto beat Vancouver Whitecaps for first win of season

Toronto FC recorded their first win of the MLS season as they beat Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 on Saturday.

Victor Vazquez and Jozy Altidore struck in the 76th and 80th minutes respectively to get last season’s runners-up off the mark after two draws.

Josef Martinez scored twice for Atlanta United as they registered a first home win in style by thumping Chicago Fire 4-0.

Martinez struck twice in the second half while an own goal from Brandon Vincent and Hector Villalba’s effort made it a difficult night for the Fire, who had Johan Kappelhof sent off in the 11th minute.
