Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was pleased to see his side’s clinical touch in their 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Spurs were largely dominated by their more fancied opponents but claimed all three points in their Group H encounter at Wembley thanks to a brace from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min’s early strike.

The hosts lifted their supposed Wembley curse in a pulsating encounter against Peter Bosz’s side, in what could prove to be a pivotal result for Spurs’ knockout qualification aspirations.

And Pochettino felt it was important his side showed a different side of their game to secure a memorable win.

“We are happy,” Pochettino told talkSPORT.

“It is true that the game was so tough and they dominated the game. The first half was very tough for us, but we were very clinical.

“I think we increased our level in the second half when the game was under control.

“But I think it was a tough game and an important win when you don’t dominate the game. We showed the different strengths of our team.”

Tottenham face consecutive away trips against APOEL and Real Madrid when they continue their Champions League campaign on September 26.
