Man Utd’s Pogba to take ‘natural’ route despite cracked bone

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has cracked a small bone in his foot, according to reports.

There has been a slight bit of mystery surrounding Pogba‘s injury with conflicting reports over whether it is a foot or an ankle problem.

The France international has missed the Red Devils last two matches against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League and Newcastle in the Premier League.

Solskjaer hinted that Pogba could be ready for the crucial match against arch-rivals Liverpool on October 20 following the international break – but the latest report from France on the injury has thrown that into doubt.

L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) claims that they have spoken to a person close to Pogba, who says the 26-year-old has a small crack to a toe.

Neymar was out for a while last season and the French newspaper claims that it sounds like a similar injury, however their sources close to Pogba are much more positive that it isn’t that bad.

A ‘microfisure’ was revealed in a scan following United‘s victory over Rochdale but the pain was made worse when Pogba played on it against Arsenal.

Pogba and United prefer to go down the ‘natural’ route of recovery rather than seek surgery, which could prolong his absence.

L’Equipe adds that it should take seven days of rest before two or three weeks of recovery before Pogba can play again, although it is not made clear if that is from now or when he picked up the injury.
