There are just hours to go until the transfer window opens with the first light of January, and it is sure to be a thrilling month full of huge deals, surprising rumours and unexpected moves.
Liverpool have already been getting in on the action, despite the market not yet being officially open.
Earlier in the week the Anfield club announced they had reached a deal to sign Virgil van Dijk, the Southampton centre half, for £75m, with the player completing his move on January 1.
Further rumours have been reported in the following days, with Stoke City’s Jack Butland linked with Liverpool as a replacement for struggling goalkeepers Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, while Barcelona are said to have ramped up their interest in Philippe Coutinho – with Jurgen Klopp tracking a West Ham star as his replacement.
