Thomas Christiansen has warned that there will be difficult times ahead for his Leeds side.
The Dane has enjoyed a successful start to life in the Championship but, speaking exclusively to Jim White, he pleaded with fans to manage their expectations.
Christiansen said: “We have to be realistic that this season will be very tough, very long and it has just begun.
“Until now it has been positive, but I know that bad moments will come.”
The Whites suffered their first defeat of the season last weekend at the hands of Millwall, but responded by knocking Burnley out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Christiansen added: “After a bad game, we had the opportunity to forget about that and concentrate on an important game against a Premier League side.
“It was almost a new team because I made ten changes. They made it fantastic and that was the response that I expected.”
Leeds face an Ipswich side at Elland Road on Saturday who have also made a strong start to the season.
Christiansen is approaching the game with caution: “The worst thing is that they [the fans] have got used to wins and good games.
“I will remind them through the radio and through my press conference that it will be a tough game.”
