The Premier League has enjoyed unprecedented success in this season’s Champions League group stages, with all five representatives making it through to the last 16 – the first time any country has achieved that feat in the tournament’s history.

England’s all-conquering quintet – Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur – won 21 of the 30 games they played, losing only three.
