West Ham have seen a £12m offer for on-loan Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario rejected.
The Portugal international joined the Hammers on a six-month loan deal back in January and has seemingly impressed in east London.
Mario, 25, has just one assist in five Premier League matches so far, with David Moyes’ side slipping back into relegation trouble.
However, the former Sporting Lisbon is clearly valued highly at West Ham and according to FCInterNews, the Hammers have failed with an opening bid for the midfielder.
As talkSPORT revealed yesterday, Mario is determined to leave Inter in the summer and admits his time at the San Siro is ‘part of my past’.
West Ham will likely review the situation and could submit another formal offer within the coming weeks, should they preserve their Premier League status.
